What rear lightbar for my HD factory tour pack on my 2019 RG Special and why? I prefer red lenses to match my factory lenses on the rear signals. Give me some images and links if you don't mind please. This will be solid mounted so quick detach is not a concern.
What backrest for my King Tour pack? Factory back rest is HUGE. I dislike the way it looks and do not have a passenger right now. Links and pics if you have them please.
What liner? I don't care about the top, only the bottom. Had a factory on e in my last pack. Read some Amazon reviews saying that they didn't fit well. ITts just a liner to keep stuff from rattling so probably not an issue. Once again, links and pics if possible please.
Lastly, I got the factory pack from Harley as I find it to be worth it quality and paint wise (scorched orange/matte black) and have utilized my factory on my 2013 Glide daily for over 100K miles without issue. I did have to replace a few latches, but that is wear and tear from all the vibration of those miles and expected normal wear to me. The fact I got a factory pack should tell you a little about me and my preferences.
So I need backrest, liner, and maybe a lightbar. I am not adding speaker pods. Haven't checked to see if their are holes for the speakers ports or not yet. Guess I'll find out once I take it out of the box.
IF you're talking about a King Tour Pack
Rear Light Bar (run/turn/brake) HD #67800093
Side Marker Lights HD #53788-06 (right side) HD- #53789-06 (left side)
Wiring Harness For Lights (has some stuff you won't need) HD #69200131
A Splitter Harness (to get the power from tail light connection) Custom Dynamics #CD-TP-QD-14
Factory Style Molded Liner w/Pouch HD #53000124
Soft Molded Liner (no pouch) HD #53000323
Thanks. I never put a light bar on my 2013 as I could not see a use for it, ad that bike still sits the same today. I am planning on a power port in this pack which I did not do in the last so if I bother to run power I thought maybe I should do a lightbar.
After looking at my pack and the chopped backrest that has been ruled out as their are too many holes in a factory pack to cover and have it look decent. Still seeking answers on black latches from anyone whom has gotten varying brands and how they work/don't work. The ultra would have been nice but the non detachable lowers was a deal breaker and I didn't want that liquid cooling. In my book that's just one more thing to break.
The last set of latches I got was from Hogworkz and they worked fine. I am currently putting a King Tour Pack on my 2020 Eagle Eye RGS. I purchased all the parts online and got the lights for the bottom of the TP and the wiring harness from Custom Dynamics to match the rest of the smoked lights on the back of the bike. I am going with the quick disconnect mount so I can use my back rest when I am not traveling to far.
@MCSarge what did you use for a rack on top of the pack? IT seems taht every product on Amazon I read reviews of has a bunch of negative reviews. I don't trust HogWorkz, as all these small companies source the exact same stuff that you can buy on eBay and Amazon and resell it at a higher price. So for the latch and hinges I am ponying up at a discount HD dealer, and after reading reviews of the racks on Amazon I am thinking of doing the same.
A few hundred is not going to kill me, but I'm looking for real world reviews from people in a place like this who ahve used these products. Reality is taht it's impossible to know until I hold the product in my hands, install it, and see how it works however I am attempting to mitigate frustration later on through research now.
Don't bother with the ebay/amazon tourpak racks. They are cheap, have lazy bad welds, and are actually smaller.
I found that the holes don't line up if you already have holes in the top of your tourpak. Found this out while trying to black mine out on the cheap... sent everything back.

Thanks My pack is brand new (Factory Harley) and does not have holes but all the reviews on Amazon said doesn't line up with holes (not an issue for me) and doesn't sit flat. I'll pony up for teh Air Wing as it seems to be the only one taht comes in black. My rack always gets used on long trips so it is important to me that it is sturdy and functions properly.
