I have 2 bikes with a hydraulic clutches. The 07 CVO Springer is perfect, light consistent pull and never had an issue. Then I got the Eagle Eye.... clutch sucked, almost all the way out before it engaged and with my arthritis a long ride with stop and go traffic was painful. I have a few friends that put on the adjustable levers but the pull effort was still the same, so I went with the AIM Gen 2 slave cylinder. Of course they now have come out with the Gen 3 but I digress, the pull is consistent, starts to release about 1/2" off the grip and the effort to pull it is lighter than my CVO. So far it has been a win win. I know a few people have had problems with the earlier versions but then there are people who have had it in for a couple of years with no issues at all. I guess time will tell. Good luck on your project.....

Shim is for the Assist and Slip clutch if that is what you have. 2014 CVO came with Assist and Slip.
Not sure if the shim will work in the standard clutch.

I have the OEM clutch. I have no idea what an assist and slip clutch is.

I can answer the cost question - just did it yesterday.

Total cost was just over $30,000 - I went from a 2014 to a 2021. New bike has the cable (lol)

I guess I am the only guy, other than Matt Laidlaw that prefers the Hydraulic clutch.

I saw his video on that and the hyd has good points, no doubt. I like not having to adjust it, but dislike not being able to adjust the point of engagement. I also do not like having to change the fluid of a hyd unit, and bleeding the system. Neither chore is bad enough in itself to warrant not buying a bike over, just personal preference. I have always felt like its a more natural "feel" to the clutch. Better feed back, for when things are starting to go wrong.

I need to get down to the dealer and check out the pull on the 2021's to compare. Will definitely do that before I swap anything out.

I was down at SMHD on Saturday and tried out the cable clutch on a 2021 CVO Street Glide and a 2021 Limited. To me, it took about the same amount of strength to pull the clutch lever in as it does on the M8 hydraulic clutch.
But again, Harley made the change backward as a money saving reason. That's it.
