Default FP3 Base Map or Autotune?

Just got my bike back after a little performance upgrade. I've had the basic Stage 1 with dyno tune since I bought the bike, but I've been wanting to do a cam for a while so I finally pulled the trigger. I went with an S & S 585 gear drive cam and Feuling Super Set oil pump/backing plate. Threw on an Arlen Ness Inverter A/C at the last minute, mostly for aesthetics.

I knew going in I was going to have to replace my tuner since I had the SE Super Tuner sold to me by my dealer and later banned by the EPA ($500 flushed). I decided to go with the V & H FP3 tuner. I had my local Indy do the work (very experienced bike builder) who loaded a base map for me and did a basic tune. After a couple of test rides he felt really good about the tune and didn't think I'd gain much by running the FP3 Autotune. My question for those with FP3's, have you run the Autotune feature on the app and did it make a significant difference?

Congrats on the Stage II upgrade. I think you're going to love it. I had an FP with my 2011 Heritage Softail what had a stage III upgrade. Yes I think you will get it dialed in with a good decent autotune run. I would also look at setting your throttle response to race/performance mode as well. I did that to my buddies 2017 road glides and they were very pleased with that one mod alone. I couldn't do it to my 2011(no throttle by wire). Let us know how you make out. Once again congrats on the upgrades.

Thanks, now I just need the weather to clear a little, nothing but wind and rain here lately.

Once autotune is done, send it in and Cheyenne can smooth it over even better yet

I auto tuned mine after a map provided by Vance & Hines was downloaded to me (FP3) on my 117” Stage 4 upgrade. I even auto tuned it to run on regular 87 octane gas as I have been for over 100K miles with V&H approval.
