well i for one am glad i bought the esp from jim palmer with tire and wheel added on. bike went in for 20k service and winter storage and they found rocker boxes and hoses leaking, as well as a broken off nail in rear tire! total out of pocket for this work was a whopping $0.00!
i thought the oil was from the air box. didnt see the rocker box leaks. saved $2700.00 and some change, the policy was $2400.00. the wife insisted i buy it, i was inclined not to.
i hate when shes proven right!!!!!
The wives are rarely wrong ( just ask them ). Just kidding. I swear they have a sense about some things though that is really eerie. I'm glad you had it and have been covered. Merry Christmas!!! You got your gift early!
BTW, I have a 2015 Ultra Classic and I had those rocker box leaks too. I have seen others here that have had that same issue. I wonder if it was that 2014 and 2015 period? I haven't noticed it spoken about with the M8 Folks.
Don't care what it cost. It's nice to hear Jim Pammer covered as I have a by the Motorcycle Agent myself. Much cheaper than a HD ESP with more coverage. I have two years left and 45000 miles.

Great News! I'm glad this failure was identified during the storage period. Now lets hope for a fast winter so we can get back on the road!

Am I reading this correctly? Rocker box and hose leak repairs, and a tire cost $2700?
Let the man be happy. The only Happy Campers that own a Harley are those that just hand them a blank check and know no Harley dealer would treat them unfairly. My bike came with an extended warranty. After they hit me with two $150 deductibles on the same repair and it broke again, I just said screw it.
Bought my student a new Fit. for graduation. Came with free oil changes. No way I will ever use it. Done found out, after a point, they will just screw with stuff.

I've got one more year left on my ESP with @Jim Palmer - MotorcycleAgent.com. Two head gaskets and 4 tires later, it's saved me around $2500 so far (after ESP cost).
Also, Jim Palmer is a great insurance agent too! He's saved me quite a bit on all my insurance needs (motorcycle, auto, home, RV, landlord) and at the same time improved my coverages. Highly recommend.
2 hours labor? Takes me that long to R&R the gas tank.
Wow, something must have drastically changed with the M8 bikes.....
On my '16 Ultra Classic, I can literally remove and replace the fuel tank in about 20 minutes, give or take a few minutes at beginning and end to select tools and then put them away......
Remove seat, unhook like three electrical connectors & the overflow tube, remove 4 screws, disconnect fuel line, and pull off the tank....
I hate to admit it, but I've pulled the tank just to polish the rocker covers real well during a full detail of the bike...
I've never purchased an ESP for any vehicle I've ever owned. Heck, I've never added an ESP for any major purchase I've made, (TV's fridges etc). But for some reason this time around I succumbed to the sales managers pitch. The plan is for five years with unlimited mileage. So I'm good until 2027.
