Default Twin Cam Ultra Limited vs M8 UL

Last July, I sold my 2015 Ultra Limited, thinking I was getting out of riding for good. But I've got the itch to return and am debating whether I'd be better off getting another 2015 Limited or a M8.
A 2015 Limited has everything I want/need and a lower price tag for sure, but there is always a risk buying used.

A newer M8 Ultra Limited would provide the improved GPS functions within the GTS radio (a personal hot button of mine), more HP (which is not a big deal for me). What are some of the major M8-era advantages/improvements over a 2015 Limited ? I know I'd be giving up the CB by going to a 2017 or newer - any other take-aways ? (Oh yeah, the heel shifter, too !!) What M8 years would keep me away from the sumping and tranny/primary transfer issues ?

Thanks.

I would potentially consider a new or used M8.

I'd like to know the significant differences (improvements/take-aways) by year, if not too overwhelming to list. And which M8 years to avoid (ie sumping, trans/primary transfer, whatever else).

My 2017 Ultra Limited M8 has a CB. I had a 2012 Ultra Classic before and my mistake was taking the 2017 for a test drive!

I owned a 2015 oil cooled Road Glide with a 103. It was the most miserable Harley I have ever owned. I tried everything to get that turkey to run cooler. I spent thousands on exhaust, fans and coolers before just dumping that chump. I purchased a 2020 Road Glide Limited new with liquid cooled heads and a 114 M8 motor. It is the first time in my life I didn't want to change anything. What a difference. I know you want a bat wing which is great, but the drive trains would be the same. Tons more power, runs very cool. I even left the stock shocks on. Major improvement over those stupid air shocks (spent a grand for new shocks on the 15) I did replace the fork oil with Screaming Eagle oil. I think it gives it less dive. I am at 20 K miles and have had no issues. I cannot speak for the 107 M8 owners but my friends that own them love them. I paid 28 K for mine in 20 but the same bike new is listed for 33K. Good luck and happy shopping.

I dont recall the year, but at some point, the Ultra Limited did not come with a CB (like it did back in 2015 and other years). Of course it could be added

So none of you M8 owners have had the sumping issue ? Or the tranny/primary fluid transfer issue ?

Coming up on 31k miles on my 21 RGL, has been trouble free, just regular maintenance.

Coming up on 65K on my 2017 RGU without any breakdowns. I did do the new oil pump at 25-30K when I did a Cam. Was fine before hand though...

As of model year 2020, the new oil pump design has been solid. Also primary vent was standard that year, so the transfer issue appears to be behind them
