I have an aftermarket tour pack on my 19 FLHTP that has no run/turn/brake light bar. One was given to me a while back so I figured Id try to wire it up on the cheap, and if it all works, then Id tackle actually drilling holes and mounting it.
I bought a harness extension on Amazon and a plug from eBay expecting them to match up but they dont.
I dont have a service manual (I know, I know) but does anyone happen to know which wires do what on the extension? The extension has 6 wires and the plug has 5. If I can get them matched up right Ill make the connections. Any help is appreciated. Hopefully the pics help.

True. In my defense, I tried to buy the OEM wiring harness and the local dealer parts guys couldnt figure out how to order it. My total investment in this so far is $27. If I cant make it work its not a big deal.

I'm sorry, couldn't help myself...I think what you are going to find is someone on here may be able to help you, if they have just done this on same MY & Model bike and they also have an electrical manual for that particular bike...you should probably look into getting one of these...service manual may help...I think there are some wiring diagrams in the back of it...

The 2 6-pin connectors are to plug into the rear lighting connector under the seat, think of that harness as a big "splitter" so you have a wire to run to your tour pack. The 5 pin fits the HD light bar.
Here is the pin out for the 5 pin at the light in this other thread, post #8 https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...l-light-2.html
you should be able to figure it out with that... same color coding/wiring as your bike's 6 pin under the seat and the light bar.
Is this light bar a HD light bar? Because the pin out in your picture isn't the same configuration as an HD light bar is? Not just the wire colors, but the position in the plug is different too.
Check out post #9 in the second thread I posted a link to above, that is how a HD light bar is pinned out.
Thanks, it appears the eBay plug uses all different wiring colors. As far as the light bar itself, yes, its OEM, but the pic I posted is from the eBay seller where I bought the plug. Ugh.

Well... you can de-pin 3 of the wires and put them in the right places, looks like the Ground and the Left Turn wires are in the right place... but not the other three. But you saved some money!
But I'd use a meter first and verify it....
Well, actually I just rode over to a different dealership and they had the stock harness so I bought it. Has a bunch of stuff I dont need (antenna connections and such) but Ill just go this route. Thank you.

As one could expect, it works with the factory harness. I actually needed the extension that Id already bought on Amazon, so Im only out $7 for the eBay plug.
Now I just need to work up the courage to try and mount it. Thats a bunch of holes to drill without a template.
Is it possible to remove the studs for the 2 antennas? That would be 2 less holes to worry about and I will never use the antennas anyway. I could try to find some plugs for the holes.
