How many here have ever had their bike stolen or bags broken into?
I can't imagine the horror of either scenario.
ESPECIALLY the bike being taken!!
I'm super paranoid about leaving my bike unattended for long periods iof time......depending in where I am.
Ill.always go check on it every 20 mins or so to be safe.
There's an antique bike show this month here in South Florida.
I'm thinking of taking the car only because I'm uneasy leaving the bike unattended in a field with a thousand other bikes for a few hours.
I've got some nice stuff in my bags Id hate to lose.
Wadaya think........am I being too paranoid?
Better that than getting ripped off I think!
Ya get that way growing up in NYC.
The only thing I've been uneasy of is to leave my $700+ helmet hanging on a mirror. I'd leave it there when parked at the dealership but take with me when grocery shopping.
I was so proud when I bought my first new Harley. I rode it to Sturgis that summer and worried the whole ride up there. Then I got there and realized that my bike was nothing special, and there were hundreds and hundreds that were much nicer. Yours is no different. Also, if I saw someone breaking into a bike in a field of many, I would not just stand there and watch. Ride it and enjoy the show.
I personally think that if you worry too much about stuff like that, it spoils the ride. You have insurance, and the things in the bags should be replaceable. As was said before, it it gets stolen I probably don't want it back. I have been to many rally's swap meets and bike shows, and have never had anything ripped off of my bikes. Hotel parking lots are another story, someone stole my valve cap once! Ride it and enjoy the ride!!!

I bought a very nice helmet lock.....shaped like a carabiner with a combination lock.
May not stop 'em but maybe deter or slow em down.
