I'm going to look at a 14 Street Glide today. It only has 7k miles on it. Any inputs on the year and model? I know the Rushmore models are supposed to have decent cams in them from the factory and have good power. Thanks.
I had the 2014 Ultra - put just over 50,000 miles on it. Had to change the compensator around 35K (under extended warranty) or so. Other than that, I didn't have any problems.
The one you are looking at has just 7,000 miles on it. Sounds like it has been sitting in a garage for some time. Probably needs some fluid and tire changes.
Mine is 2016 model. Think similar to 14. As of now Ive 65,000 miles.
My bike is still stock with motor trike reverse. Other than that nothing done to it.
Only issue that has popped up is upper rocker box gasket leak at 60,000 miles. I was told its just a weep and I can keep riding.
Last year I met a guy in Canada who was on his way to Alaska from Milwaukee. 120,000 miles on his roadking (same platform). He told me he had same upper gasket weep at 60k miles and then lower gasket weep at 100k miles.
There are plenty of bikes here over 100k miles on 103 engine. This is my first Harley and Ill be honest I was really hesitant buying it after riding other brands and stories I heard. But so far this bike has done everything that I wanted it to do. Except suspension ..Ive spend lot of money on that (That part Indian has it dialed pretty good).
My buddy and I still both ride 2014 FLHXS. Great bikes with very good engines.
Don't let anybody tell you the 103 HO is not that much better than the old 103 - The HO is stronger.
Don't let anybody tell you the 107 is way stronger then the 103 HO. There is very little difference between the 103 HO and 107.
Have a look at dyno sheets for 103 HO versus 107 from the exact same source (Cycle World). The difference is negligible and I have run with enough 107s to know it 107 riders often ask me what cams I am running and when I tell them bone-stock 255-ish cams many do not believe me. The 103 HO engines run strong in Stage I configuration. My wife's 2013 103 Stage I is nothing like my 2014 103 HO Stage I.
