It's been a while posting about my CVO lemon and the original post got way too long. Posted on the CVO site to see if other CVO owners have had my same type of problems and it doesn't seem so.
2023 CVO still under 2,000 miles and more trouble. With all the noise, etc. problems, it is now showing oil on the inside of the right slip-on tip. I haven't seen it smoke, but of course I couldn't when riding. No smoke at start up, or noise. Pulled the plugs, one from front and rear, no oil there, well way down on the threads a little oil.
This CVO is going to give me a heart attack !!!!! $52,000 and nothing, but a complete disappointment. I wiped the oil off to see if it comes back, if it does off to the dealer again. What I don't want is to have them say they have to tear the motor down, find the problem, then after all of that tell me parts needed are not available, on back order, "no problem they'll be here just after riding season ends". What I'd like them to say is, you're right YOU HAVE A REAL LEMON, here's you money back. Sure, that's going to happen.

As you know, HD will do nothing until you bring it back to the stealerdhip and have them monitor the oil level. Don't wipe the oil off and let them see it. It's a bummer but In the mean time I would ride it like I stole it,
I would talk to a lawyer about the lemon laws in your state. Often, when you get someone who knows the law deal with the Harley shop, you get a better outcome than going head to head on your own.

What makes you think it is a lemon? All we have heard so far is an oil leak and perhaps some noise. An oil leak should be an easy fix…probably a gasket. I would hardly call that a lemon. Leave the oil on the bike and take it to the dealer. Pretty hard for them to fix if you don’t allow them to look at it.
As far as the noise, again, take it to the dealer. These motors do make noise….they are mechanical in nature and your sitting on top of the engine. You will hear valvetrain noise, the compensator and the transmission clunking. Its all part of the experience of owning a Harley. Are you an experienced Harley owner? What have you owned before? I only ask because if you came from a Goldwing or a BMW, this may just be a matter of perspective.
