JW Speaker makes them, and you can find good pricing on the Custom Dynamics model (compared to the HD Daymaker). Look around for sales on JWS models, I have even seen them on Amazon
I have the CD version and I dont find the above statement to be true for me at all. This light outperforms the stock daymaker I had by leaps & bounds. Not really a fan of how it looks like a bugs eye, but it really performs at night.

I have the CD version as well...I find it superior to any headlight I ever had!
I'm not sure if this applies but I have read on this Forum about the possibility of radio interference from some headlights. Again, I'm not sure if this applies but might be worth asking CD or whoever you buy from IF that's a possibility.......just an FYI
I have the JW Speaker version and find it to be outstanding. I have it on an Ultra and usually run my passing lamps. The low beam works good and the high beam really shines down the road. Take the time to adjust it correctly to get the most out of it. I almost forget about the adaptive feature until I ride the other bike that doesn't have it. Thats when I remember how well it works. Expensive but I think it works pretty good.
