Gotta plug in the cord and a headset, then you have to turn on the intercom and adjust your comm volume up and then your VOX . Or you can have the VOX off and only use the PTT button only.
I think it may be a little more helpful if you share your system and its connections.
Sounds like you are wireless - what system is in the bike and, are you using the WHIM? If you have the WHIM and a wireless headset that is connected, then I believe you are able to use the bike's system wirelessly. Unless the wireless headset is a Harley branded unit, I understand you will not hear the sound in stereo.
So, on your bike - do you have a CB? If you do and the bike is connected to the WHIM, you can then use the PTT to connect to the CB.
By the way - once you install the WHIM, the wired headsets no longer function. This is why I chose to not install the WHIM. I used wired headsets on long trips and I use my Cardo headsets on shouter trips and around town.
