Default S and S slip ons on 22RGST

I have the s and s slip ons on my 22 RG ST 117

previous owner installed these, Reinharts would have been my choice.

However don’t want to shell out another $1000 plus for them

the s and s are way too quiet, I can’t hear my bike next to mrs low rider s with freedoms 🙁

can’t gut cat till out warranty

was thinking of some sort of baffle mod

from What I read running without isn’t real good🤷‍♂️

was thinking of removing baffles and modding by poss enlarging plate holes and refit

anyone been down this road? Or recommend a plan?

Cheers

Are the DB reducers in? That would be the starting point. Also, they are quiet at idle but bark when the throttle is opened up.

I'm with slingshot, look into what baffle options are available for those pipes, I would get in touch with the company direct or an S&S dealer if you have one in the area.
I'm with you on the Reinhart slip ons, I love the sound of mine on my RGS.

Just to clarify, the db reducers Slingshot is referring to are NOT the baffles. Remove the screws from the end cap, pull that off, and see if there is an insert that comes out. If so, that is where your volume is going. Removing it will increase sound but could also negatively affect your low end punch.

Can't be sure, but that looks like the end of the DB reducer in the pic. They are only about 6" long, slide right out of the baffles, will take longer to pull the screws out than pulling out the DB reducer.

Note to self. Spray those little bolts with PB blaster spray before trying to take them out. They will snap off.

Agree that it appears the reducers are still installed based on that picture.

I was looking into the s and s grand national. Do you what the diameter of the baffle is? 2.25" or 2.5" ?

Those look similar to my FM Jackpot Street Outlaw slip ons, the DB reducer can be removed. Personally I like the DB reducer as is better sound than stock while still easy on the ears.
