Assuming you cleaned / replaced the copper contacts in the solenoid and plunger and that the starter was correctly reassebled, the repeated clicking would indicate a lack of incoming power.
I believe I reassembled the starter correctly, I cleaned copper contacts and armature in the starter. I went ahead and ordered a new starter. I’ll update the results once I receive the new starter and install it. Thanks for your help!

Probably left out an insulating washer or put the wire on the wrong side.

You ordered a new starter without confirming the battery ?

I bought a new battery, put a charger to it, then had it load-tested. What else can I do to confirm the battery?

Like I wrote, When you rebuilt the solenoid, you misplaced an insulating washer and grounded the solenoid output to the starter or come other part. It turns the solenoid into a clacker.

How can I check this? I don’t think I can upload pics. I had the starter bench tested at Oreilleys, it kicked out and spun on the tester. Would it still do that if it was missing an insulating washer of if the wire was on the wrong side?

My bike was running fine until I got stuck in traffic on a hot day. Bike died while getting off an exit on the highway. Bike would t start back up, wouldn’t turn over until it sat for about 20 minutes, then it started. I rode it another half mile to work and parked it for my 12 hour shift. About 8 hours later I started the bike in the parking lot to make sure it was ok. 5 hours later as I was ready to leave work, bike wouldn’t do anything but the single click. I had it towed home and it’s been in my garage ever since. Just thought I’d give this background info on how this issue began. As previously stated, a new starter is on the way, I’ll install it once it arrives and update. Thanks for everyone’s help and suggestions.

Well, it could be something with the mounting then that could be grounding the cable from the solenoid to the starter.. I had that happen when I used a aluminum housed speedo sensor and a 2kw starter.. The sensor pinched through the cable and grounded the starter motor.. GREEN

Also, the pull in wire to the solenoid may not be hooked up right.. RED

It's possible that the (H)old-in coil lost its ground.

I replaced the starter, same issue, just repeated clicking. 🤬

The solenoid is clicking because it is not getting sufficient current to pull the plunger.

Read the voltage at the small wire on the solenoid while pressing the start button (do not disconnect the wire).

What is the voltage reading?
