Hi all,
Does anyone have first hand experience with changing a rear brake light switch on a 2014 Ultra Limited ?
I'll be doing it soon and would appreciate any tips .
I havent needed to change mine on my 14 Limited (knock on wood). After looking at the procedure in the service manual, I hope I never have to change it.

Is that one of the models that was affected by the brake light switch recall a few years ago?
When the bike gets hot In the summer or after sitting during a ride the brake lights stay on . In cool weather the brake light will go off after riding for awhile .
I changed the brake fluid thinking if it had a high moisture content it could expand and cause the light to go on but that didn't work . With the brake lights stuck on and disconnecting the wires to the switch the lights went off .
I was hoping that someone found some short cuts the the procedure in the service manual but I'll do it according to the manual . Im working on a lift table so I should be able to support the engine when I remove the right engine mount .
Not a candidate for the recall but ironically the dealer didn't have a switch in stock so he sold me one from a recall kit !

My its going bad but The one I changed I think a 2014SG it sits real close to the exhaust. If its the same one just loosen up your header pipe just to make some room and replace it.
@01dlx If you have a YouTube channel, do a video. I found several videos on changing the switch, but none of them were Rushmore touring bikes. I may need to use it one day to change mine.😎
On earlier tourings i did a replcement without brake bleed. Just fill the reservoir up top, remove the old, push the pedal a bit, start the new couple threads, keep pushing the pedal and tighten the switch. Newer ones have the switch located so deep and awkward i wish the engineer who did this to have his wife's ***** was located the same way or he got his dick on the heel so each time he need to pee he must unwear his boot.
I made a small little hear shield for my 12 street glide. Had to replace one on my 15 tri=glide and what a bitch it was.
Why doesn't Harley use a better switch on these bikes ? My first one only lasted about 4000 miles. With all the room on a tri=glide why not put i5 in a better location.
Bad design .
