Bike overheating?
antone in the Orlando area maybe that can help with a compression test and check for vacuum leaks?
guess I am just looking for peace of mind and to stop cooking my right leg
From Steve Cole:
"The temperature sensor is screwed into the head just as it was with the Twin Cams. The difference is the Twin Cam was located in the front head by the intake manifold side and the M8 is in the Rear head by the intake manifold side."
had the bike checked out.
there was a large intake leak on the rear cyl. We replaced the manifold
as for the overheating or running hot. Its a lack of airflow due to the lower fairings. I installed love jugs and that cools off the engine significantly. When the temp is below 320 the bike runs amazing.
so now I need to find some replacement speaker pods for the front or move my lower speakers to the saddlebag lids.

Thanks for the update...
Just curious, how did you determine the lower fairings are causing your overheating?
You sure it wasn't the intake leak thinning out the AFR?
I ask because there have been tests that show the lower fairings don't restrict engine cooling.
There was one test by a member of this forum many years ago. He found with the directed airflow of his lower fairings, he recorded lower engine temps while moving, with his lower fairings mounted....

After replacing the manifold. Going back to the original tune and starting fresh. The temp only dropped 10 degrees.
I removed the lowers for testing and went for a ride. The temps had dropped another 30.
input the lowers back on and run with the love jugs on all of the time but they only work in town
I need my tunes hahahahaha.
