helmet lock
We just put them on the seat. Lucky, I guess. But then again, I have a plain and simply helmet.

Overnight at a motel, I throw my gloves and sunglasses inside and carry it into my room, goes on the shelf above the hangers or on the bureau.
I do have a light weight, bicycle helmet combination wire and lock. It might stop an honest thief, but cutting it free would mean it needs to be repaired. That cost would be than more than what they could get for it. It’s on the bike, but it’s been 3 decades since I used it.
Im not saying be stupid about it. We tour, I solo a lot and it’s been decades since anyone has looked twice at my helmet. Oh, one caveat, I don’t do cities. There, in many places, nothing is safe. On the road, solo or two up or with my buddies, I don’t sweat the helmet, even in helmet mandatory states.
if you lock it, it will stop a grab and run, as if the strap is cut, the helmet is worthless, so, in that sense, the cheapest cable lock is all you need. Don’t overthink it with anchor chain and a 5/16” security padlock unless nothing is safe where you ride.
The tour pack just barely holds our two modular helmets with Cardo communications.
If for some reason we cannot get them inside we carry them. We both have over $900 bucks in each helmet and headset. The helmets do not have d-rings so they are about impossible to lock up.
Just not worth the risk.

Thanks for that reply. I didnt even consider that. With no d-ring that is a very good solution for modular and full face.
