Noticed my halogens in my SGS are pretty dim and I am thinking about upgrading to an LED Headlight.
Searching I am finding so many different options with quite the range of prices. From as low as $60 to as high as $400.
My question, is $400 headlight that much better than a $60 or even $100 one?
I could give a rats *** about a brand name on a headlight.
I did LED conversions to both headlight and fog lamps on my 2018 Road King and they worked fantastic! Cost was around 60 bucks for everything. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
Spend the money on a good one, especially one with a warranty. I have a buddy that has been through a half dozen cheap head lights. These bikes shake and the cheap ones eventually fail.
I made the mistake of buying a headlight from Amazon. It caused the bike to throw several lighting-related codes. Sent it back and bought a Custom Dynamics headlight which worked perfectly. Guess I have to keep learning the "buy once, cry once" lesson!
I spent $500 on a Custom Dynamics a few years ago.
On the latest bike I bought LED replacements from Paradise Lights. Good customer service. Small mom and pop. Maybe $100? They work with the stock lens and reflector.

I recommend buying an adaptive LED light - these light up the corners as you lean and are a game changer - I had a JW Speaker adaptive on my 2014 FLHTK and it was awesome. I am saving up to get the HArley version on my 2020. Bing Videos

I ran Sunpie LED on my 2002 ElectraGlide without issues. Transferred to the 2019 FLHTP for 10,000 miles. Then I bought the Custom Dynamics Adaptive II and am very happy.
