We were at Smokey Mtn. HD in Marryvile Tn yesterday and my friend just had to ride the 2014 Limited. He said it was awesome. As long as you have the fairing vent it's smooth, quiet an no buffeting. Open the vent and bam, it's back to head moving. He said the bike was smooth and handled great an had good power. I think he may buy one when they get one in black.

There is a button on top of the fairing on the windshield side to close the vent which would work in case of rain.

Sometimes things can be so easy......

It strikes me how Harley Davidson describes its improvements. If you read it time after time you almost start to believe that some minor changes are "massive" improvements. I have to admit that some serious improvements might be achieved but come on, they try to make us crazy as well (if you are sensitive for their marketing strategy).

Cool

Yea, there is no doubt that buffeting was a major issue on my 2012 Street Glide. However, the solution was simple and relatively inexpensive. I'm not remotely interested in trading in for a 2014.

What's your cheap solution? Higher windscreen?

Any rider who smokes has, or is gonna have, bigger problems than the mail slot to worry about. He'll find out what they are when he's in the doctor's office getting the results of that biopsy..

Seems like all it does is divert the air from the top of the windshield into your chest. How is that an improvement?

The air doesn't go on your chest, it's diverted up the inside of the windshield. Opening and closing the vent at 60 makes a noticeable difference in buffeting. No bugs through it either (yet)!
