I do not think it will work. The reason is the boom box is the one sending the pairing request. As far as I know it doesn't receive requests from other devices to pair. Bluetooth headsets send the request to pair, so if the boom box doesn't 'listen' for pairing requests, it won't pair.
Thanks so much for the response... my boom box sees it but keeps failing to pair after I put the pin # in....
So from what you say.. I'm getting that the head set is the only way to be able to answer the phone through the boom box ???????

Interesting. Personally I wouldn't have expected you to get that far. Have you tried setting the pin to 'none'? I have a Sena Bluetooth headset that doesn't require a pin. I don't have it with me at the moment, but tomorrow I can test it out.

The 6.5 system does not work with Bluetooth headsets. There are many discussions on it here. Use the search. There are a number if technical reasons why this can't work with the current state of Bluetooth. Search my posts on the subject.
As the guinea pig that I am, I purchased a 2014 limited. The automatic speed/volume feature of the stereo does not work. In working with the dealer, they had me update the head unit software, which I did and it still did not solve the problem.
They informed me of two other problems with the unit, one is the display goes blank with no user intervention, and another is the navigation activates also with no user intervention.
For those of you who actually have a 2014 with the advanced head unit, I would like to hear of your experiences or problems with it. And the fixes you did to remedy the problems.
The software update took me all but 5 minutes and is easily done. If you want to do this the update can be found at the following link:
Did your pause button problem go away? or how did you solve pause problem? I am having the same problem with Pause button on bottom of screen as soon as i plug iphone 5 into USB. If you press the mute button it removes the pause button from the bottom screen. Except when i press mute button and pause on bottom of screen goes away its replace with a red circle with the line through it over the speaker on the bottom on screen. So far i have tried 5 different wires no luck. re bluetooth, unpaired, paired. can't get music through USB??

Are you kidding? Have you even opened your Boom manual? If you don't have the 2015 Boom manual, download it here:
Pressing the Mute button will NOT get your music to play. The play/pause issue is your iphone/iphone software. Sounds like you need to figure out how to use your iphone too.
HAMMZ, thanks you were so much help. Do you feel better trying to put somebody down to lift yourself up. I never said pressing mute button would bring my music back. The manual says pressing the mute button will remove the pause button and it did but then red circle with line through it covered the speaker icon. I clearly know how to work my iphone. I installed new update days before was trying to narrow down if it is phone or system. It is clear to me and anyone else that read your post you know less then I do on the subject, you have zero clue what the problem is BC if you did you would have answered the problem instead of trying to put somebody down

Maybe you should search HDF to see how many iphone owners can't make their phones function with the HD Infotainment system. My android phone works great with my Infotainment system. I don't have problems, but you do. And you think I know less than you about the HD Infotainment system? BS!
I gave you a direct link to the 2015 Boom manual. I guess that's of no use to you cuz iphone users can't be expected to actually read a manual? It just amazes me how superior some iphone users think they are. The red circle with a line through it over the speaker icon means the speaker is muted.
After you do that, if you still have questions that you can ask intelligently, I will try to provide an intelligent answer that you can understand.
Edit: Media is resumed by pushing forward on the left handlebar volume control button. Using this method will not change it to mute. If this doesn't work, fix your iphone.
I've been trying to pick through the many threads & posts after searching on the Boom Audio issues , lot's of stuff to sort through.
My 4.3 doesn't sync well with my ipod Nano , it connects but sounds like a weak signaled radio station , the music also speeds up , slows , and periodically pauses. The ipod functions fine on it's own so I'm pretty sure it's the Boom unit at issue.
I'm at 1.17.1.2 firmware , does the 1.18.2 seem to resolve these types of issues ?
