I have the latest software (1.17.5) on my 2014 Limited CVO. From what I can understand this software update cut out all texting completely through the infotainment center because of liability issues.
So are you saying you can't receive texts? Where did you get your info from? Thanks...
I won't be doing the software upgrade if this is the case. Not too sure I believe this to be true though.
Yeah, OP has 7 posts and he has this info, I'd like to know where he got it from and if his bike has the update is this happening to him? Lots of loose ends here.

This has already been countered in posts from other users on "the other" GPS thread. According to several people who have it, .5 still appears to have the same texting functions of .4 and earlier.
I purchased a training video from Law Abiding Biker.com on the infotainment center. In the video it detailed the text receiving as well as how to setup the system to automatically respond with a preset text (ie: I am riding my bike and will call you later) when you receive a text. I could not get it to work so I called he. He said that after he made to video that Harley disabled the texting part in the latest update. I can only vouch to the fact that I can't receive text in any form. My bike was purchased in mid June and had the latest updates already installed. I am using an iphone5 with the latest software update. Just saying it doesn't work for me.

It is a known fact that you can't use the auto respond with an iPhone. I can receive texts and have them read to me with .4 and an ATT iPhone 5. From what little I've read about the advantages of .5, I'm not about to try it on my bike.
Has anyone else noticed that when you have the navigation direction arrow showing on the map, that it is backwards? If I have my map screen configured where my direction that I am going is always pointing up, the direction arrow that should point to north points to south.

It's a heading indicator, not a compass. If you're heading south, it will point down, 6:00, south on a compass.
