I'm going to swap out the bars on my 04 flhti in the next month or so. I'm 5-9 and have kinda short arms, so like others have said I get the proverbial pain in the neck from leaning forward and tliting my head back.
I was considering the 2" pullback bars or a similar after market bar but my HD dealer recommended a pair of 10" apes. He said it gets your hands higher which I'd probably like and also allows them to be pulled back a bit more than 2 inches. The result is the hand position is right at the top edge of the batwing fairing.
Anyone else tried bars like that? I'd be interested in hearing if you like em.
This is to anyone with a 14-16 Street Glide that has installed the HD pull back bars #56176-08.Can you still use the fairing mount mirrors with the new bars?

Thanks old mike.Do you know if there is a newer version of the bars for the Rushmores, and do you destroy the grips removing them? One more question, are you happy with the bars?

I liked them but for a bit more pull back I just installed 2+2 narrow sweepers, have not been on the road yet. I have them pulled back, I can see my hands in the bottom of the mirror but I'd say they will work with stock mirrors too. I usually have to get a new left grip with new bars.
There is a thread about these bars around here somewhere. http://www.khromewerks.com/SWEEPER-B...1029-1277.html

I've installed these bars on my 14 and my 15. Didn't have to buy new grip, just used a narrow screwdriver to loosen grip and then twist and pull to remove. Bars work great for me at 5'6" vertically challenged. Kept stock mirrors too, don't always believe what the sales force at moco tells you.
