Default Street Glide Windscreen advice

I just picked up a 2014 Street Glide last Thursday which is a nice step up from my Wide Glide.

I get helmet buffetting with he vent open or closed so I'm looking for advice on a replacement screen.

I'm 5'8".

Thanks

LOTS of info here...

IMHO, a 7" or 8" Long Ride Shield would work wonders for you.

I'm currently exploring options for my 2014 Limited.

There are plenty to choose from. I ran a LRS (Longrideshields.com) on my 2010 Street Glide. Loved the LRS on my SG and IMHO probably the most popular. However, LRS currently has some production problems with a cutting machine being offline. So, not sure what that means for delivery.

Others are:
- ClearView Shields (clearviewshields.com)
- Cee Baileys (ceebaileys.com)
- Freedom Shields (freedomshields.net) - To me this one looks the closest to an LRS. Probably what I will go with on my Limited.

I would stay away from anything MoCo. I tried a Windsplitter and it badly underperformed stuff in the aftermarket world. I would recommend doing a search on the forum also. This topic has been discussed A LOT. You'll find plenty of info out there.

I don't like the looks of the curved shields, either the HD or third parties. I have a Limited and the 7" HD is perfect for me. I can look right over it, it looks as cool as the useless SG screen and the wind hits me at the top of my helmet, no uncomfortable buffeting.

Also, a lot of the wind on a Street Glide comes from under the fairing. I had fork-mounted deflectors on my 2010 Street Glide. That, coupled with a 7" LRS and I had little to no buffeting.

Craig, I am 5'7" and I installed the 7" Windsplitter H.D. # 57400205.. I used the same 7" model on my 11 SG and it works well. I do not experience any buffeting on my '14 SGS with that installed. It's all about the rider. Good Luck!

Yup! Althoug I'm 6'2', I like the 7"LRS accompanied with the adjustable fairing deflectors. Works very well for me.
Strap on my soft lowers and It'll take the blizzard of '82 to stop me from ridin. Ok, maybe not but that combonation works very well for me.

I'm 5'9" and a half (Lol). I bought the H.D. 10" wind splitter and I like it. I can still see over it just fine.

My local dealer has demo windshields that I tried before I decided on the 10" Windsplitter. Check with your dealer to see if they have demo's for you to try!

I just installed the LR 10" today and my height is the same. The only buffeting now is from below, ran 85 on the toll road. Next week the lowers will be here, I hope that stops most of the buffeting from below.
