then dont settle for that, you have the right to have a undamaged bike when you buy it new.. and that doesnt seen to be the case, if they just want to repair it... to me thats not accecptable, i think i would go over their head and go straight to the moco and complain, the other thing is that for me, by them that its not a dealership i would go back to... they have shown their true colors

Yah I really liked the dealer up to this point. They're acting like replacing it is out of the question until they waste my time and their money and repaint it. Does anybody have a MOCO number to call?

i made that suggestion, thinking that you had already spoke with the general manager and get his answer regarding the issue... and i would be finding the custom service number for the moco

I don't think the MOCO has anything to do with it. It happened on their watch and finish is typically only covered if it's a paint defect or sheet metal issue in my experience. So if they're telling me that the MOCO won't let them replace it that's bs. That's them trying to save a buck on a kid (I'm 24) who they don't knows what's going on.

I don't know how they would fix it? I have a scratch on my Amber Whiskey fairing and was told by the dealer that Harley won't be releasing the paint for this color for a few months. If you didn't take delivery on it, then the only fix I would go with is full factory fairing replacement.

I have taken delivery of it only due to the fact that it happened just before they loaded it on the trailer. I was told they have the paint on order but who knows how true that is.

I would not accept that.

Period.

Call them back, get the general manager on the phone, and ask him for the owner's phone number and the Harley Customer Service number.

I would have Milwaukee on the phone in a heartbeat.

Here's a number to start: 1 (800) 258-2464

Say what you will, but Harley doesn't have a dog in this hunt. Its a retail dispute. Harley can call and counsel with the dealer but that's about it. The dealer damaged the bike. Not Harley. Not the shipping company. You should still call Harley's customer care line and talk with someone. At least get an issue registered and get a case opened.

I was on the way to pick my new SGS up the day the recall came out.
When I got there they said they would have to keep it for a few more days until the parts came in. When they unhooked the clutch cable, the fitting on the end scratched the F--- out of the inner fairing. I called the HD Dealership Owner and he had a new fairing sent overnite. They made it right but it still pissed me off. Good Luck
