redeye93,
we just installed the Boom! Music and Comm kit on my wife's '14 SGS and she really likes it. Like others, it was a very easy install. The instructions say you'll need to have a dealer enable it but it worked right away. Definitely give it a test before you take it into the shop.
We've tried it with a 3/4 helmet and the HD Premium headset and a 1/2 helmet with IMC HS HP170. Both work great but the 3/4 helmet set up is better to hear calls/prompts; as you'd expect.
We ordered the kit from Surdyke for $56 and did the install in about 90 minutes taking our time.
We both set our bikes up the same- music through the fairing speakers and GPS prompts/cell phone through the headset.
I've used both the in-helmet headset that came with the ultra in a 3/4 helmet and the 1/2 helmet boom headset. Both worked well, from neither could the other person tell I was on the bike at 65mph. My only ****ling complaint is that they could put a little more feedback I to the speakers so that you can hear yourself better. But if you dial into conference calls often, you'll need to stop to enter the dialin and pin numbers..
I used the boom mike headset that fits in my open face helmet that came with the 14 ultra. Works great. No problem hearing callers or callers hearing me. In fact just about everybody I speak to can't believe i am on a bike. In fact, my wife says its better than when I call her on the cell. Only issue I am having has to do with my phone book/contact list. For some reason the radio system does not read all of my contacts. Bottom line? No need to pull over to make a call.
I have the comm set that came with my bike and i called my wife at home today with it for the first time. I have a 3/4 open face helmet and I was doing abut 60. She said she could not even hear the engine and it sounded perfect.
I don't know what my headset is called but it works great.

I had to go to HD to but the 1/2 helmet version. At 80mph they say it's clear with barely any wind noise. With that said, I'd prefer not to make/receive a call while on the road. But good to know it works.
