If you conduct your own maintenance are you covered by Harley ESP? Are you setting yourself up for failure? What do you say?
You can do your own maintenance. Just keep receipts for all fluids, filters, gaskets, everything you need to perform the maintenance. I also wright the date and mileage on the receipt that I actually did the maintenance.

I've done many of my own oil changes and have never even been asked to produce my records (which I keep on a computer plus the receipts). My '09 had engine failure at 65k & 99k and was repaired under ESP without any problems.
I should add that my bikes were kept completely stock, down to the air filter & exhaust.
