I have a 14 Limited with about 2300 miles on it. Since it was new, I have been experiencing some hesitation when starting off, almost to the point I feel like it is going to go dead on me. It seems to be between 1100 and 1800 RPM's, afterwards it has awesome power. I don't have this problem with my 09 Road King or the 04 ultra I owned previously. Anyone else having this problem? How can it be corrected aside from adding tuner, A/C and pipes?
My 14 RK seems to be that way also; not really a hesitation just takes a little rpms to get it going. I figured that's just the way it is with the new cams they put in it now. I've noticed I have to rev it up alittle more when taking off compared to my 11 RG I used to have. But once you are rolling it will sure make a hole in the wind!
Mine doesn't feel like hesitation, but it does feel like the gearing is slightly taller when starting from a standstill. Does anyone know if the rear spocket is the same size as previous years?
Hesitation may not be the correct word, it does feel like it is geared higher and requires a higher RPM than normal to get started. Once it gets past this point, hang on, it will fly!
I think instead of "hesitation" which would cause people to think you might have a cylinder misfiring or something similar, you might describe it as "lethargic" (Slow out of the gate) up until you get to 2000rpm?? And then you get a surge of power and off she goes?? Is this closer to what you're feeling?

My Goldwing would pull off the line from idle...no throttle needed. That said, it was also comfortable in overdrive at 40mph.....it was very quick, but didn't have long legs.
It's hard for me to tell because I'm babying my bike so much (still under 500 miles), but it feels geared a bit taller than the 2011 EG I ride regularly.
I had this same problem with my '14FLHX, very slow to start from a dead stop, then I realized that the EITMS was kicking on after about 30 seconds after I stopped, it shouldn't have but it was, once I turned that feature off, the bike takes off normal now.
Not saying this is what you guys are experienceing, but it was what caused the problem for me. Bikes don't like to take off real well running on just the front cylinder. If your EITMS is on, try turning it off and see if your problem goes away.

+1 same issue here on my '14 street glide special.

I'll definitely have to check this when I get back home next week.
