I THINK I have figured this thing out. I have the latest firmware, while I was in NAVIGATION mode viewing the Map, I held down the FAVORITE button until a new menu popped up, I scrolled down to Media and chose my USB Flash drive and it now seems to be working. It has been defaulting to my USB Flash Drive since.

Just catching up on some old threads, thanks for this tip Ken, I'm heading out to the garage and try it now!

I want mine to be off when I start my bike. That's the way I left it when I shut it off.

Ken, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! Tried it a bunch of times in the garage after following your instructions and it worked every time, taking a ride tomorrow so I'll have more time to test it but so far so good...a BIG THANKS! This is one of the most common problems written about, so many times the question has been asked so maybe you should start a new thread and post this info so you can get the credit for discovering this fix...thanks again!

I agree that the update caused this...mine starts on all different modes I can't figure out what changes. IE, some times the iPod comes back on some times and even some times the WB station....

Method worked twice in garage without cranking, so tomorrow with a full start i should be good to go. Thanks for posting the sequence = IPOD default.
