HD is listed as being 7", and Klock Werks has a 6.5" tall one. I was wondering if they are the same height or actually half inch different? Anyone try both by chance?
+1 on the KlockWerks. I went with that because my buddy already had one and I liked the way it deflected the wind when I rode his bike. Didn't try the HD one. 6.5" is what I have, and I'm 6' tall.
I went from the OEM HD windshield on my QD frame to a Klock Werks windshield unit. Big improvement with the KW. The height is pretty similar (I didn't do a side by side comparison) but the KW flows bugs and wind up and over me, and does a great job of killing bugs. It looks good, too.
I demoed the 7" Windsplitter a few weeks back and it seemed pretty go to me. As you know everyone's opinion will be different, we are all different sizes and shape. Who is 6' with long legs and a short torso will be effected differently than a guy who is 6' with a longer torso... you get the picture.
It all matters whet will work for you.. If there is a place where you can demo them that would be the ultimate otherwise you are buying a selling a lot until you find the one that works.
You're are taking the right first step though in getting opinions on here.
I had the HD 7" screen. It's actually 6.5" from the fairing to the top of the screen. I found it to be too short and changed to the KW 8.5" and its perfect!
