Doesn't kick off fast enough for Me.I may have a heavy hand.lol.
I think some of that may be psychological. LOL
I just tried to find the specs again and failed but I recall it being in the ms range. I can't see how you could really feel that.
Admittedly, it's only kicked in for me a few times. Temps still in the 50's and 60's here in NJ. It does take you by surprise the first time since it sounds like something is very wrong with the engine idle.
I rode to Panama City Beach this weekend for the Thunderbeach Rally. The system came on every time I stopped at a light during the hot days. Temps were in the 80's. Like Webo, I blip the throttle to cut if off before I let out the clutch. If I didn't, sometimes it would burp and almost stall. It took me a little while to figure out that it was the EITMS that was causing it. I thought something was wrong with the bike at first. You can definitely tell when it activates. RPMs go down a touch and it vibrates. I never really smelled anything different.
I've used the info screen to show when it was enabled or disabled, but I didn't know it would show when it is actually active. Pretty cool. I'll have to watch for that.
I know what you mean about taking their word for it that EITMS is a good thing. Luckily they turn off the fuel injector when EITMS kicks in so we're not soaking plugs, but I keep remembering all the problems GM had with their 8-6-4 experiment. Multi-displacement is old news nowdays, but it still seems weird to shut down a cylinder in a running engine.
Great shot of Garden of the Gods (as if there's a bad shot). Also... what exactly causes the rear jug to "shut down?"
Fuel cuts off, spark cust off, both?
A friend of mine told me Dodge Chargers have a similar system, for fuel savings, and not temp management.
Thanks
Question - Why did my dealer deactivate EITMS? Sounds like it's a good thing.
Fwiw, mine is now activated. I must have rolled the throttle forward inadvertently. When it kicks in it sounds different, but I haven't experienced any performance issues so I'm leaving it on.
