I don't have experience with these, but from my recent experience, check the sole and see if there are any small screws or nails exposed that hold the sole to the boot. I recently bought a pair of HD riding boots, and had my floorboards powder coated black, and the boots scratched the hell out of the floorboards, to the point that I will have to either touch up or send off to PC again. They have 4 or 5 small screws right where my riding position was (toes pointed out from bike on long runs, with heel on floorboard). The screws are out just far enough to screw stuff up. Similar issue with my highway pegs on the engine guard.
I wanted to buy these, but could not find a Dealer that stocked My size.So I ordered a pair in My size .When they arrived they were marked as My size but felt 2 sizes larger.I went looking for a Dealer Who had them in stock and found none.I did try on a pair called "Jay".I cannot tell You how nice these boots feel. The comfort is almost like wearing comfortable slippers. They are very light and You feel like You can walk all day in them.So I dumped stylish for comfort and I could'nt be more pleased.

i have heard that boot sizes fit different as well, hence y i am not a fan of ordering any on line or thr Dealer Will look up the " jay boot"
Funny they cost $240 and up when they are made in china....
I ride with a pair of red wing work boots. I have had them for 7 years now and going strong. American made, at least when I purchased. Lace up, allows a snug fit at the ankle. Not the most stylish but extremely comfortable. Long lasting and functional. Hot or cold. Rain or shine.
If you are interested, take a look at Red Wing Engineer boot #968- 10" Pull on boot.
This boot has a vibram sole, good traction in the sole and heel. Adds about a 1/2" or more to my "reach" which I like. Sole is goodyear welt (no nails). Costs maybe $50 more than the HD boot, but is made in Red Wing, MN.
I have a pair of their motorcycle boots, which they have of course discontinued and I love, and I have 2 pair of their pull on steel toe work boots, I wear all 3 pair riding, and absolutely love them.
I've been wearing steel toes for 19 years, and these are, by far, the most comfortable I've ever owned, and I've worn Harley boots when they were made by Wolverine, Wolverine boots, Red Wings, Carolinas, Georgias, Justins, hell I couldn't name them all if you paid me to...
