I did get a reply from Captain Itch on if they are making pouches specific for the lowers.
Yes, we heard about all the lacking storage and already looked at the new Ultras at the dealer, and are working to come up with pouch on the outside. But you guys would have to drill through the panel yourself. We would just provide the pouch with the washers and screws.
I suggest that you like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Capta...6830401?ref=hl and as soon as we have them to meet our quality standards, we will announce it there. If you dont' have FB, just check in with us in a couple of weeks or so.
Thanks for asking.

There may be a proper product soon. This is good news. I will be getting one as soon as they are available.
Hopnel makes these for the snaps on the older bikes. The look very adaptable. They also look very small. Very small.
You could actually screw the female part of the snap onto your current rubber covers, they sell ones with screws at the fabric store or hardware, no setting tool needed. (Although they are handy for making up your own custom straps for things that are just the right length.)
It would be nice to find a bag that's about 5" wide maybe and 6-7" tall to go there, maybe 2" thick; wouldn't stick out like the horizontal ones do.
Had a few minutes today and cut up an old pouch for my lowers, drilled a couple small holes in the doors and attached them, I checked with a dealer on getting new doors if I want to take them off, only $16.00 for each door. I think they turned out ok. I also picked up a new Harley cup holder that mounts on the downtube to clean up my dash area.

I like that cup holder. It doesn't get in the way of your leg? I've got a holder attached up on the handle bar by the left grip but it has to be angled just so in order to get a bottle in there and still have everything function the way it's supposed to. I use it to hold a spittoon mostly and no way I could put a can in there or I'd have sticky pop flowing all over the place.
The 3 bag system seems to be love or hate. Personally I did notice a bit more airflow over my face after installing it but it was light and doesn't really bother me much. I don't feel it totally defeats the vent but maybe does disrupt it a little. My big issue w/ that center bag is I keep a credit card sized ID in there I have to show everyday coming to work. Real pain fishing it out of there with gloves on. I think it's the angled bottom giving me fits. Anyway the damn things aren't cheap so no way I'm chucking it. Back to that cup holder...gonna have to give it a look next time I'm at the dealer.
The cup holder is new this year I think, It is a real bitch to put on fighting around those lowers, I was going to take it back but I tried one more time and it goes on good. It is very sturdy and of good quality. I thought it would be in the way of my leg also, so I took it for a test drive, you really have to stretch to even touch your leg when you are on the bike and you don't even notice it. I think I'll keep it.
