Default 600 miles in

to what I hope will be a long and meaningful relationship with my new ultra'14--quite a change from the'85flht--mostly good too. Like the smoothness and power, seat is just ok, ordered some floor board extenders hopefully they may add to the comfort a bit.

6speed tranny is great but sure seems to 'clunk' when shifting, now after having about 3days of riding since writing the big check thinking that deciding to purchase new was a good one!! Having a radio isn't as "special" as I thought it may be---hopefully will be better when I get this bluetooth thing figured out
And after having Garmin equipment since forever the nav system on the bike is feeble at best--hopefully will get better
couple more days and will be ready for 1000mile checkup--
so far only add on has been a chrome antenna--should have bought the bike before retiring 4yrs ago upgrades sure would have been easier

new license will be QJUDG--when you see it say hey!!

So your 85 didn't clunk? My 85 a sounds like its going to drop its load every time it shifts, and it only has a few thousand original miles. So get with the groove the Rushmore gives, if you notice you are probably going faster than you used to, but its subtle. Also all the features that seem strange at first will start to grow as you learn their functionality.

I avoided the Rush initially but now I am all sold. Harley treated us to a amazing motorcycle. My advise is just to settle in and get to know it.

So I am starting to learn the Harley ride planner and down loading to the bike, but so far seems good.

So 85 to now as only upgrade? Well I guess this one is your lifetime buddy. I think you will end up happy.

sold the '85 with about 150K miles(power train still basically un-opened)-bought it with about 20K miles around '90--in fact went and rode the '85 last nite to check my feelings about the clunk and the old one is smoother(quieter0 shifting--of course that just could a sign of lots of wear!

Have been around Harleys since around '69 after a brief fling with Lucas- prince of Darkness but back then didn't care much for springs or windshields either and as many changes that have been made some things are sure familiar!!

Figuring that this bike will probably out last me but not sure the pocketbook is up to the challenge---

Mine is being delivered this AM, I can see the lowers making your feet crowded, I already ordered extenders also, they are good, had them on my street glide, also concerned about highway peg angle but will deal with it. You're 600 miles ahead of me, ride safe
