The first night I rode my new '14 FLHTK I was scared to death, I was looking over the windshield into pitch black. The only part of the road lit was below the top of the windshield. I immediately drove home and adjusted it WAY WAY up. I actually tightened the top screw all the way and loosened the 2 side screws considerably to get it to shine down the road enough. The next day I took a 9/16 deep well socket and cut groove through it so I could loosen the nut for the passing lamps. I used a level to get them square to the ground. When I started, the housings had a 1/4" gap between the level and the bucket at the bottom, the level was touching the top of the housing. With the lights all adjusted, it does work well. I have not reflased to get the passing lights to stay on, but the high beam works well and the low beam is awesome.

I do not have a problem with the stock 2014 LED lights once properly adjusted. Rule of thumb, do not ride faster then your head lights project. SLOW down at night. The LEDs are way better then the stock lights that came on my 2004 Heritage.
My riding buddy told me several times he could not see my headlights in his rear view mirror. One day we swapped bikes and I saw for myself. Low beams are not very noticeable during the day. I ride with high beams during the day.

Having switched out the stock lights on my 2012 Limited to the Daymaker LED, I was very pleasantly surprised at the daytime visual presence of the bike. When I got the 2014, all the front lights were aimed very low. I had them adjusted at the dealership and watched while they did the fix. Very high tech.... hold the arm with the signal light in one hand and with the heel of your other hand bang the top of the spot light to angle it back and raise the beam. They had someone sitting on the bike, holding it level and tape on the wall to use as a guide. The spot lights were set to stay on with high beam and we will give it a try.

I'd find another dealer. That adjustment technique may work but that's just the dealer tech being lazy and not using the correct socket to adjust the passing lamps. Smacking the light like that will no doubt shorten its life. Even if they are LED's. But the dealer doesn't care about that, since by the time it needs replacement, the bike will be out of warranty and you will foot the bill to repair it.

I am done with the HD Daymakers. I wanted to like them considering all the money I spent on the Lamp and running lights. They Suck. As others have said, going straight on a flat road, pretty good, but once on winding, twisting undulating roads, you're done. You have zero peripheral lighting, you can't see jack through the turns, and you literately have to crawl at extremely low speeds or you don't feel safe. Harley should recall this set up, i'm sure people have been seriously hurt or even killed do to these lights....don't waste you're money !!!

Hummer - you need to stick around and read some!

I fixed my 2014 Limited lights after reading a bit here. Adjusted the headlight as high as it will go. Pulled the spots and reoriented upside down.

Now I am seen in the daytime and the whole world is lit up at night! Seriously OBNOXIOUS bright! Only had one person flash brights at me so far though.

I'm dealing with this right now , see a big V shadow shape out to the left close to the line , terrible going through the corners . I'm going to raise it above the recommended height and try again tonite

I rolled my spots 180 degrees and that helped a bunch. Loosen and turn them upside down

Oh crap, I feel your pain then. I would hate to have to rely on the small beam of light that just the headlight puts out. Too concentrated on one spot
