Really? Seriously? People are not buying Harley Ultra Limited's because the GPS is so bad and they are waiting for updates?
Yes. I know of 3 people holding off buying a new Limited until the 15's roll out. They are waiting for the issues on the Rushmore bike's to be resolved.
I really didn't think I would ever see these type of threads on a Harley Forum....
With that said, I am a professional video/film editor and obviously a member of the Sony Vegas software forum (editing software). Just before a new update is released, the forum explodes with anticipation...everyone trying to be the first to announce the updates are available...everyone dancing in the streets anticipating all the bugs from previous version will be fixed. It soon arrives and the mood changes....the same people start bitching about something didn't get updated or it is still has some glitches....sound familiar? LOL
Please folks this post is to poke fun at all of us here only...
I went 1,200 miles from Friday to Monday and led the group following the Nav routes planned in HD Ride Planner. We got everywhere we wanted and back again and my bike never blew up or nothing. It sure is a huge improvement over the 20 year+ old radios on the '13's. Couldn't be happier now and if they make it better, great!

Great post. I'm headed out on a 1000 mile ride starting today through a Sunday. All planned in Ride Planner and uploaded into the 6.5".
One in the same. The Infotainment unit contains AM/FM/WB/CB/Bluetooth radios, local intercom and a GPS. The 1.17.4/5 software that is being referred to is the operating system software of the entire unit.
I thought GPS "map" updates were coming from the NAV company that makes the GPS portion of the Infotainment system. This is a separate update from the operating system software.

Map updates are a completely separate update to the units software.
We don't need map updates we need the unit operating system software updates.

What issues KC? 4,300 Miles on mine and not a single issue. The only problem I have is a plastic guard that was wiped out by a piece of steel in the road. They are covering that under warranty anyway. Besides, this person made the statement that people are waiting because of the GPS. It's normal for many people not to buy first year automobiles or bikes. So what? I don't believe for one second that people are standing on the sidelines because of the GPS. If they are then thats just plain stupid because the only difference between this year and next for the GPS will be the same software update I will do on mine when it comes out anyway. Just because the GPS has only 9 waypoints does not make it a fundamentally flawed piece of equipment. And yea I know thats not the only glitch with the GPS but its no more glitchy then any other first gen product I ever bought. Thats such a minor inconvenience its silly to even make such a suggestion.

I have no problems with people waiting a year for glitches to be worked out of any product new to market. Its part of the natural cycle of consumer electronic/mechanical devices. And every manufacture including Toyota has year one issues with their new products. My issue is with the cry babies who decide to jump in year one and cry and moan when everything is not perfect with the first gen product they purchase. This is not something that only happens to Harley.

You say crying and moaning....I say...bringing issues to light, discussing and the reason anyone in 2015 who buys a bike without issue...can thank us for talking about ALL the issues.
