Did you guys DIY the softbrake install? If so, any tips or helpful hints?
Pretty simple deal. I did take the footboard off to get some room but didn't remove or loosen anything else. I used a needle nose to pull the cotter pin out as well as reinsert it. Also, any stock o-rings are not used on the new lever. Just the lever, washer and nut. Be sure to rub a little grease on the shaft and a couple pumps into the new fitting.

I also have the Softbrake brake and shifter arms. Plus 2. Extremely high quality stuff and made in USA - unlike most others. Very fast shipping.
I highly recommend calling Rick and speaking directly with him. Awesome guy. He will help you select the proper configuration for you. Why not get help directly from the guy who makes the product?
I have a softbrake extended pedal for sale in the touring section if someone needs one. I only used it for a week then bought an ever longer one, very nice piece.
I took the advice of this thread and got the softbrake extended lever. Amazing difference, easy to install and shipped fast (2 days). Well worth the $150 in my opinion.
One install tip I'll throw out there is to score the head of the clevis pin with a line parallel to the holes. This guide will give you a better idea of where the hole is and help you line up the cotter pin. Total install took less than 15 minutes.
