From what I've read, there's little to no problem with putting 6.5 inch speakers in the new bikes, but I spoke with the tech at Arc Audio and he said that their speakers will not work in them because the rubber seal around the speaker causes an improper fit and is causing them to separate/blow within a couple of weeks. Between that and some of the reviews I've since read, I'll be staying away from them. Found a good deal on a Cerwin-Vega Stealth Bomber B2 amp and a pair of Infinity Reference 6032cf 6.5's. Any opinions on this setup? Also, is this a problem with any speaker, or just the Arcs?
I put those same Infinity speakers in mine. I think they are a nice improvement, especially at the price I paid for them. The rubber surrounds leave about a millimeter of space from the factory grilles. The Boom grilles should give some more breathing room. I haven't picked those up yet. Pulling the speaker pods off was kind of a pain, but with some patience it's not terrible.

Do you like the sound of those? What do you have pushing them?
I think they put out a little more volume which really wasn't an issue to begin with for me personally, but they do sound cleaner overall. I'm just driving them with the factory stereo for now. I am undecided whether or not I want to start splicing wires to add an amp. If I do go that route, this is what I will likely use. It seems to be the popular choice for many.
I run these same Infinity Reference 6032cf 6.5's speakers in my SG, love them and they were priced nicely from Sonic Electronix!...Not a lot louder than the stock speakers, but like mwegryn said, they are much cleaner/crisper sounding! I think with a 250-300watt amp pushing them they would sound better, but that's JMO.
I am also running the same speakers. I think to be honest the volume is a bit less than the stockers but the quality is much better. I will be adding an amp later this summer for sure. As stated getting to the speakers is kind of a pain. If you get yourself a flexible 1/4 or 3/8 extension your job will be much easier.
After much research, I followed the advice of many and installed the infiniti 6.5 on the front and back of my 07 ultra with a cerwin vega stealth amp. Went with a Kenwood Marine radio (no cd player for dust and water). VERY SATISFIED!!! New to radio installs, this did take me a while with a call to tech support. Amp is a must have with this setup. Very Loud/Very Clear. I use a small usb (when no service for radio or cell) and stream Pandora/IHeart Radio. NO CORDS. Hand controls operate it all.
Thank you all for the post.
