warranty issue question
A couple of days ago I noticed the left cubby hole was open. The little male / female connection was broken. In fact, the connection on the stationary part, not the part that flaps open had completely broken off. happened to be in proximity to an HD dealership. I inquired about the part. I was asked if it a stock bike. What does it matter if it's stock? I asked. What does it matter if I had changed out the grips? or the foot boards? or the seat? That has nothing to do with the part that is broken.
His answer? I just need to know if it's completely stock or if you have done modifications.
He wouldn't go into details.
What the hell?
less than a 1000 miles on the bike. It will be repaired when I take it in for the 1000 mile service.
Any reason for the questions on the "stockness" of the motorcycle?
Thanks

The manufacturers teach the stealer this tactic to save the manufacturer money on warranty claims...
Wait until you have a mechanical problem and they find out you didn't do the 1k at the stealership or used Amsoil...
just make a list of the small cosmetic problems, and let the dealer that does the 1k service take care of it.
