Just purchased the 6.5GT for my Standard Street Glide. Anyone that has already done this do you have a step-by-step on swap out the radios? Did a search on youtube and this forum and couldn't find anything.
I know it will cost roughly $200 for a dealer install. And the unit lists for around $1,900, plus tax. That's a pricey swap. What don't you like about the standard system?
Install is very easy right at a hour and it was my first time..
The 4.3 is small and no navigation. The 6.5 seems easier to use and get around on to me.
Cost of unit is high and note it went up $50. but I had some credit owed to me plus I got 20% off so I went for it but dealer didn't seem to know what they have to do flash etc. Obviously some one there has to know something???? LoL
After install Out of the box General information
EQ verson 1.1.0
soaftware is the 1.17.5
Hardware Version 2372371-1705
There is a beep sound you can not mute or get rid of but you can drown it out by turning it up. ipod, radio work.
The 6.5 turns up WAY louder than my 4.3 did.
It does come with GPS antenna.
There are no maps or navigation on unit.
Tentative plan is to get bike in on the recall and have flash done as a courtesy and that can happen but only on the right days LoL. but trying to learn more before hand.

Special tools that help etc?
Had dealer install mine for me when I purchased the bike. It was worked into the cost of the over all bike purchase.
Sounds like a PIA,guess if you want the 6.5 you should probably get it new on the bike, doesn't seem anyone has this swap dialed in dealers included. If it was that simple I'd have the 6.5 on mine. All that $$ and no one can make it operate properly.
