While I wasn't quite ready to get rid of the 05 Glide, the fact that I was suppose to take it on 2k mile trip (with some hesitation) and the infotainment system with onboard GPS helped me convince myself get the 14 Ultra was a good idea.
Now in hindsight, I'd have been better off taking a chance with the 05 and some maps
That's a shame. I took a 5600 mile trip from PA to WY and back. I used a few routes from HD Road planner but mostly just day to day impromptu routes. With the exception of the clock being an hour off and telling me I was going to arrive before I left, I had no navigation problems using the H-D GPS.
I used the gps to get from Houston to Las Vegas to Monteray, CA across to Denver and back home. Worked just fine, at least as well as any other gps I've used. There are a few bugs but it's easier than trying to use my phone.
I just bought a new 2014 limited yesterday and read that the GPS service is from Navigo. I drive a semi for a living and that is the GPS system they use in our trucks. It's the worst GPS I've ever used! Hope it works better on the bike then it does on my truck! I probably should read the manual that came with the bike, cause I was just playing around with it and tried to put in my address and it only let's me input 3 digits of my address!

Congrats in the new scoot.
Do you mean Navigon?
IIRC I read that's a brand owned by Garmin.
And IMO the manual is OK, but is lacking for techno geeks.
