I’m not sure when you bought yours, but I read that the backrest has been beefed up recently because users were complaining it was too flexible, myself included. Because of that, something to watch for when applying pressure to it is the stud plate or the fender could be damaged if applying too much pressure to the backrest now that it’s been beefed up.

Yep all good - I was one of those complaints

I had the old version on my Slim a few years ago

This one is better and with a little (gentle) adjustment, perfect for me

Thanks for assisting. I plan on removing my OEM detachable sissy bar from my 2020 Heritage. I have saddle bags on the bike and the quick release sissy bar mounts to the spacers between the bags and fender. Do I just leave those spaces in place or should I need to replace them with something else when I remove the bar? Thank you.

There is no reason to remove the docking hardware. The docking hardware is currently installed on mine with a motherwell solo rack in place of the passenger pillion.
If I have a passenger I'll replace the pillion and attach the hold fast sissy bar. Hope that helps answer your question.

Just leave the docking hardware since they’re already there in lieu of the stock spacers. I leave mine in place all the time so I can mount the tail trunk rack when I travel.

I had the fabricated brackets polished and chromed. See Reckless Motorcycle Fairing issue! - Harley Davidson Forums (hdforums.com)

The chroming was done by San Marcos Polishing. When I dropped off my brackets, I saw a huge pile of Stealth exhausts (Temecula, Ca) in for polishing.

San Marcos Polishing Home | mysite1 (sanmarcospandp.com) polishes, chromes and powder coats. I highly recommend them.

They require half up front for anything above $200. They prefer cash or check, they do take cards, but do charge extra. Texting is best for contact.

I do have an extra set of fabricated brackets for any interested parties. Non chromed. Thank you.

Thank you for your time,
Lboy06

Question about reports of buffeting with Heritage. I haven't had an opportunity to get a demo on highway with Heritage. i see there are many threads about wind/windscreens/fangs etc. Has anyone tried a shorter than stock screen? I ask because I owned a Triumph America LT, which came with a screen probably taller than Heritage. It was awful, lots of buffeting and it hit at eye level. I switched it to Triumph Summer Screen, which is much shorter, about 11" above headlamp. I get more wind obviously, but the buffeting is nowhere near as bad. I wondered if this might be a similar result with Heritage.
