The best first modification you can make is to replace the stock seat with either a Mustang or Saddlemen seat. Next I would add a HD detachable windshield, The combination will definitely improve your comfort and endurance as well as extend your riding season. Mustang Wide Tripper Seat Notice longer nose and winder seat = comfort and reach to groung.
I find the stock seat on my 2020 LR not only nice looking but very comfortable. One of the first things I did too mine was got rid of the stock handlebars and added cruise control, but to each their own.

How do you find the Tripper compares positional wise to the stock seat? The bike fits me like a glove but, I feel like I'm always sliding forward and had to push my butt back into the seat.

I had no trouble with the stock FXLR seat, but my passenger could only take it for about an hour.
Bought a Harley Sundowner seat and that has a much better seat for the pillion rider - good for hours. I like it too, even if it does look big and cushy like the one on my Dyna SuperGlide instead of sleek like the stock FXLR seat.
With the exception of the sliding forward thing I find the stock seat okay. I've had Mustangs on my SG and Sportster and really like them so I had to ask.

Sundowner kind of cradle you. I wouldn't choose it for visual style, but it does work well. 5000% better for the passenger.
