So you have Short Shots on your bike atm right now correct? NO Do you have Baffles in them? YES I believe so (haven't checked but as it was a brand new system I guess it will be the standard baffle), however, I also have a set of the V&H Super Q Quiet Baffles (21912).
I actually have a set of Thunder Torque Inserts 158's Thanks for the detailed explanation - very helpful
I'll be able to check everything tomorrow and possibly install.
Has anyone tried buffing up the satin chrome on a pre21 to a mirror shine? Or do we really need to replace every single satin chrome part with the polished chrome equivalent.
In theory if the satin chrome is of good quality it should buff up well if sent to a professional, so Im wondering if anyones done that before. Not replating, but getting it buffed up professionally.
Just make sure you measure the diameter of the pipe and get the right sized TTI for them.
So the diameter of the pipe is just over 2" at the exit, so if I was running without baffles then the TTI 158's would be right.
However, I checked the V&H Quiet baffles (21912) that I have and the diameter at the flared end is 1 7/8".
So, if I run with these baffles then I'm guessing that I'll need a set of TTI 118's

Yeap. If you wanna run the baffles, chop the disc at the end out, and get 118W's.
I'd also wrap the extra end over there too.
The exhaust note, that high pitch "Twip" sound that comes out the muffler with those TTIs in it sounds so ****in good mixed in with the rumble.
When you roll off the throttle you should be able hear a deep gurgle, that's the soundwaves bounding off the TTI, it makes engine braking sound pretty cool.
I hope these short shots sound just as awesome once you're done.
