Everything 2018 FatBoy thread
I want to know how it pulls through the lower RPM band, how the "starting from a stop" RPMs & clutch slip changed.
How mileage, low RPM cruising, and gear/RPM/speed selections may have been impacted.
Good luck with your upgrade.
Thanks
Jim
Valve Train Noise: Very Quiet
Cam Lope at Idle: Semi-Aggressive
Description: The Red Shift 468 again placed in the middle of our test for both peak torque and horsepower. It has really broad power, nice and flat through the RPM range. It has great idle lope.
I used the Fuel Moto H-D Milwaukee-EightŽ 114″ Camshaft Softail Shootout for reference
(which has subsequently been updated with other options/dyno charts)

I performed similar upgrades to my 2025 Gen 2, only went with a RS-528 cam.
None of the cams for Gen 1's were any good anymore on gen 2

Picked the bike up yesterday afternoon/evening and rode back 90 miles
Holy Sh*t it's f*king loud (I'm DEFINITELY going to need to buy the quiet baffle otherwise the cops are going to be pulling me over every 5 minutes) and it just wants to pull.
Going to have to get used to riding it - where as before 30mph was 3rd gear; 40mph was 4th gear; etc., now it's a case of having to be one gear down, i.e. 30mph in 2nd gear; 40mph in 3rd gear; etc., otherwise it's just too "lumpy" and wants to pull.
...and YES it's f*king quick right the way through the rev range.
Cruising the Motorway (freeway) in 6th at 70mph, open the throttle and it takes off like a scolded cat.
The color of the air filter cover is far too much - sticks out too much - so going to get my painter to do his magic.

Riding in restricted mph zones (when trying to keep to the limit) is when I have to be down a gear to be able to keep it on the throttle, any let off the throttle in the higher gear is when it gets "lumpy". Twist the throttle in this high gear and it just wants to take off.
It's an absolute beast now...
and goes as good as it looks

Whats that rear fender? Looks great
Prolly part of the reason it sounds so loud to you is its so short. Mine goes to the rear axle. If I stand behind the bike its loud, but when I'm on it its not as loud

Thanks
It's a Thunderbike Rear Fender Steel 260 mm with integrated tail/brake light and indicators
Yes I reckon so but I personally don't like the look/aesthetics of the long muffler exhaust systems albeit they are meant to be excellent/better gains when running higher horsepower.

I was concerned for need to use a lower gear as I've change the front belt pulley to a 34 tooth and that caused the same issue. After the pulley change 6th gear is a no no anywhere below 50'sh MPH (that's 80'sh for y'all on the special K system
).
