Default Jump start - where?

The positive battery terminals are not easy to access on the new softails. So what’s the best way to jump start?
I’m not sure about using the battery minder connector for this purpose.
Thanks

The battery tender cable will burst into flames if you put those amps through it lol. You need to go to the battery. I suppose you could try for the Pos terminal on the starter but that’s dangerously close to making ugly sparks.

I put something like these on most of my bikes. It’s a heavy gauge tender cable designed for jumping... Though on this one I would have preferred if the fuse was closer to the battery...

I always found a couple of friends to be the cheapest and best way to jumpstart

I had to help a mate jump start his Fatty. We removed the seat and he carefully held 2 long screw drivers on each terminal, while I hooked the jumper leads to the screwdrivers and hit the starter button. Worked fine.

The tender connection has a small fuse, so it won't burst into flames. And I second a screwdriver with tape to get to the positive, but the ground id find a place that doesn't need a screwdriver.

Yes, it was an exaggeration, hence the “lol”, but still equally unusable.

I am thinking about putting an extended jump terminal on mine. Just a bit of battery cable coming up from the positive terminal to somewhere under the seat that is easily accessible. I just need to find the right terminal to put on the end of it.
