Thanx. I kinda remember that from an older thread on the subject. I need to just break down and get one. I think I got sidelined when I seen the thunderbike chrome one.

Hello everyone! I am Cj and new to the forums and this is my first ever Harley.. Traded in a Ninja 636 last Saturday and very excited about this Breakout. I just have some questions to ask and all perspectives are welcomed.

1. With the fellowship rides I got coming up, I can see getting 1000 miles very soon and that is when the first service is advised. I was thinking about letting the dealership do the first one then do the rest myself there on out. or I also thought about doing the first and all of them myself.,. Has anyone ever performed the 1K service themselves?

2. I know the engine takes 20/50 4.5 to 5 quarts. Do you use the same type of oil for the primary or the primary and transmission use the same? Please advise. Thank you in advanced

Cj

Just put Arlen Ness Micro Oval mirrors and Custom Dynamics ProBeam front LED's on. Also removed the front reflectors... Really cleaned up the bike!

Default M8 noises

I have just broken 5k miles on my breakout, it makes a scratching sound or like metal rolling over metal sounds from under the tank area between 2k and 2500 rpm only, any ideas?

Pull the tank and look for the source of the noise. Anything loose, vibrating. Or.... Take it to the dealer and have them take a look.

Recently purchased a Kuryakyn nova license plate holder that relocates the license plate to the left side swing arm on my 2018 FXBRS. The stock license plate holder (black) is part of the left side tail light support, so the arm that holds the plate needs to be cut off or removed all together. I would prefer to remove it. If I can find a left side tail light support that is the same length as the stock support on the right side. That way the lights remain spaced the same distance on each side of the fender. My question is does any one know if I purchase another right side tail light support can it be used on the left side? Is there a locator or an obstruction that I cannot see while the support is installed that would prevent me from installing it on the left side. Has anyone here relocated their plate & if so what did they do about the stock plate holder?
