The limiter does have some protective effect for the engine. No reason to set the rev limiter above factory settings, as the power falls off long before then. All you may do is stretch the con rods, and maybe introduce the valves to the pistons in an unpleasant way.

It doesn't matter, the topspeed stays the same, I'm just back from a highway trip and it doesn't changed a thing. I'm expecting the PV soon and then we try again to disable the limiter.
In the meanwhile the RPM is set back to the factory settings.
I saw in the V&H maps that the RPM is increased against the factory RPM setting on my Sporty's, so I wonder why they did that.

There are two limiters, the RPM limit and the speed limit. You changed the RPM limit, which will not affect top speed because the speed limiter was still in effect.

Yes I know but didn't saw the speed limiter with the 6050, so when I have the PV I will change them both. Hopefully the makers of the 6050 can answer if the limiter for speed can be found and alter with their
device so I can use it on other bikes to because the PV is only for one bike like the FP3.
It could be in a strange place in the 6050 software, for example to activate the cruise controle I needed to find it under "injection". Logical place for me to look for it was under "handlebar controllers", after a
call with the developers I knew it was there. But they did not know about speed limiters and checked this.
The PV arrived this morning, I just did a install of a Improved stock map with RPM set at 7000. The limiters where allready set at 255 so I did not alter anything there, the only minus for
today is the weather. It is raining so hard now that I can not do a testrun today and tomorrow is a country wide spread police speed marathon so that will not be a good day eather .
Just the cover for the wire input onto the PV unit. Really not useful as you would only put it on when wire is not plugged in, in case your leaving it on the bike. I take mine off after auto tune or loading the map.
Yesterday I did the first testrun on the highway after I flashed the "Improved map" with the limiters set on 255 kmh / 160mph , no higher speed was possible then before, on the contrary, I now have a
maximum speed of 183 kmh / 114 mph. Al so I had a excessive fuel smell when I parked the bike back in my garage.
So today I made a copy from the oem map in the ECU and altered the limiters again on 255 kmh / 160mph, a new testrun will not be for today bacause the weather is bad, plenty of rain and wet roads.
