Swapping footpegs

Swapping footpegs
I've got my Kuryakyn Switchblade pegs from the Fat Bob that I want to put on the Sport Glide. I've also picked up the DK Customs adapters. And now I'm stuck in an "I'm overthinking this" loop and really need some help breaking me out of it. How are y'all working with those e-clips? I've found a few sets of e-clip tools, but don't know if the clips are reusable. So, anyone who's swapped out your pegs on these bikes, what'd you do to take off and put on those clips?

I just went through this exercise, and I also almost drove myself nuts; but I survived. Here are my lessons learned.
1. Most affordable e-clip tools are pieces of garbage and the points on the end of them are too big for a HD e-clip. You will definitely need a set of e-clip tools, but make sure the set you order has tools with an .038 tip. The set I finally found was on Amazon.
2. Yes, the e-clips can be reused, but they will never be as tight as a new e-clip. I bought a small bag of them at the HD dealer parts department for less than $1.
3. Until you are certain you will like the different pegs, use the old e-clips you took off the original pegs. They will be easier to remove the second time if you decide you don't like the different pegs. If you do like the different pegs, you can then remove the original e-clips and replace them with tighter new clips.
4. Depending on the size and thickness of the different pegs, you may find that the brake and/or shifter pegs are a different height and/or more forward/backward from the original peg and will have to be adjusted to match up well with the new pegs.
Overall, I found the exercise a little frustrating, but it was definitely worth the effort. The price of the tools and the replacement e-pegs was a lot less money than paying a mechanic to do the job. Plus, I now know how to work with e-clips.

It was not expensive it did not deform the e-clip and I have over a 1000 miles since replacing my pegs to Mini-floor boards with no issues.
