Default Sport Glide mid controls

I like the Sport Glide but I don't like how my stubby legs make the OEM peg location feel too far away and also cause my knee to hit the air cleaner. The Low Rider controls are perfect. Is a swap possible?

Default foot peg swap

Thats an interesting question for the sport glide. I feel they are a little too far forward and could do with being pulled back.

Yes!
You can probably get take-off mid controls CHEAP on the B/S forum, but will probably have to change the stock Sport Glide exhaust.

That's the first question I asked. Second question was why not dual disc front brakes on a "Sport" Glide? Both of those are deal breakers for me...

i feel the mid controls on my Street Bob are a bit too far forward. They're not really mids at all- they're more like forwards for a short person. This is even more exaggerated now that i have my custom Whiplash seat on the bike. They modified it so that I'm a few inches further back than on their standard seat. It works great for me because I'm six three with a 37" inseam. Still, I would love the pegs moved just a little bit more underneath me- kinda like how they are on a flat track bike.

Good luck!

I have a set of mids off of a 2019 Lowrider if interested, $250 plus the ride.

Thanks for the offers fellas but I don't even own the bike yet.

I'm gonna be at Tampa Harley this weekend checking out my rental for next week (18 Heritage) for my trip up to the Smokeys. I'm sure they'll have a Sport Glide and at least a Street Bob or Low Rider I can compare notes on.

Swap is definitely possible, you will need to swap primary inner and outer also though as the shifter mechanism goes through it.
I straight swapped a guy with factory forwards for my Street Bob mids.

Exhaust will definitely be an issue though, I actually have a Sport Glide exhaust and it didn't fit until after I swapped out the mids.

I have a 30” inseam, and came off a long line of bikes with mid controls. I too was nervous about the forwards on the Sport Glide.

As others have said, swapping to mids on this bike can be done, but it is an expensive proposition because you need to replace a bunch of other parts.

Fortunately I found that I was completely at ease with the forwards after just a few days of riding. I did wind up installing 4.5” pullback risers to avoid having both my legs and arms stretch me into a clamshell. That was less costly and worked out better for me. I also addded an SE Ventilator as part of a Stage One upgrade which gave me better performance as well as a slimmer AC profile.

Of course fit is a personal thing and your mileage may vary. But the Sport Glide is a terrific bike and worth the effort.

Default Floorboards

You might also check out DK Customs' floorboards. They bolted right on (with DK's 2018 adaptor) to my 2018 Fat Bob's peg mounts. They don't move you as far back as mid controls, but made a big difference in foot position and not being so stretched out.
