Totally agree. In our case, and across the sea, it can be almost double ... maybe the cheapest one is the one you said about removing the baffle and accessing from the other side, but of course, if it can be disassembled ...
Guys I now what you are talking about, I live in Belgium so I now that the the US prices are almost x2 overhere + import and taxes so I will go with the square ones,
they are cheap and easy to obtain I just keep looking for a while to find one with a hole in or else I make one.

About that, I was wrong, the nudes are 7 and the screw on the side have a different head Look here
first is the biggest one the second is the one for dB killers
That type of key was what I said in the other thread ... but without having tried it.
Why do you say "for sure"? Perhaps one could be, but the pins look different, and the shape of the star too ... (I mean the difference between the one mounted on the dbkiller and the one mounted on the baffle)
What seems incredible to me is that it has two different tamper proof bolts..amazing.. how difficult it is to be legal in Europe!
Nothing a drill can't fix... Drill it, weld a bolt to it, BOOM! Turn it out with with an adjustable wrench! I wouldn't weld on my pipes to remove that bolt though. If you do, unhook your battery.
Can you drill and use an extractor? Personally, I'd leave well enough alone when it comes to certain things.
I've seen the 6 and 8 sided bolts, even some 3 sided. Never 7.
