Well if I add other non compliant exhaust, AC... then warranty gone. But yea, reconsidering installing anything that will affect air flow while not adding a tuner.
Supposedly, if I just add the AC and not touch exhaust, the ecm should account for it. Also, I read that DK testing showed that the M8s don't appear to run as lean from factory compared to TC.
What HD is attempting to do is force the customers to only buy their branded parts by holding your warranty hostage. Some people say screw it anyways and others wait until the warranty is up in two years. It's a call each of us has to make and live with.

Yes I agree... and this comes to service as well. The dealers are really pushing all services through them... "to ensure warranty.."

Cant say as I blame them, at least for the power train side of things. My other bike is an ADV bike. In that world, people modify heavily with aftermarket parts. It's amazing to me how often you hear that 3rd party part A and 3rd party part B work fine on the bike but pair them together and something goes wrong, fitment is off, etc.
Fact is, HD can test their parts work with their bikes and on their dime pay for replacement/repair because they know it should work. If you go throwing on some other part, even if they are a reputable manufacturer, I don't see how it's justifiable for HD to pay on their dime if something they didn't test has issues.
